The Jazz band will be playing a set May 15th at Mad Maggies tonight from 5-7 p.m. It is located at 51 South Grove Avenue
Elgin, IL 60120. It should be a fun night of jazz, combos, and maybe even a special performance by Wyeth.

All Marching band uniforms must be in to Elgin High May 21st. Our finale concert is Thursday May 27th at 7:00 P.M at Elgin High School.

The symphonic band and Jazz band will be playing tomorrow at Vernon Hills High School which is located at:

145 Lakeview Parkway
Vernon Hills, IL 60061-1566

The symphonic band plays at 10:30 and the jazz band plays at 11:30.

Feel free to attend-All support is apprecated and the admission is free.

I am posting to inform and remind you of some of the up-coming events and dates regarding the Elgin High Band. We are seeking parents both to ride the bus with us for IHSA on April 17^th and to support us in the stands at the contest. Please contact Mr. Bogue if you are able to help or have questions.

April 17^th –(sat) 8:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. IHSA Organization Contest Vernon Hills High School, Vernon Hills IL (symphonic/jazz band members only)

April 30^{th- (fri)}7:00 p.m Percussion Ensemble/Jazz band Concert at Elgin High School

May -15th- (sat) 5:00-7:00 Jazz Night at Mad Maggies (jazz band members only)

May 27^st- (thur)7:00 p.m. Finale Concert (mandatory for all varsity band, symphonic band, and jazz band members)

May 29^{th (sat)}- 9:00 a.m.- 1:00 p.m. Graduation at the Sears Center (all band members required to participate)

Prelude to Spring Concert

This is our first concert featuring both of our middle schools, Ellis and Larson. This performance will also feature; the Elgin symphonic, varsity, and jazz bands. The concert highlights will be numerous but will include the music of George Gershwin and Duke Ellington.

When: March 18th at 7:00 p.m.

Elgin High Placed 1st in color guard and 2nd overall in class A at the Lincoln-way Competition.

Lincolnway East Marching Band Competition Oct 10th

On October 10^th The Elgin High Band will be attending our first Marching Band Competition at Lincolnway East High School. I am looking for any and all parents interested in either attending the event or helping out with the event. I need two adults to Chaperone the Buses and any parents who own a SUV, Van, or Truck to help with equipment. The Drum major podium really needs to go in a suburban, truck, or van type vehicle, any help would be greatly appreciated. Please Contact me by phone or e-mail if you can help.

Schedule for October 10^th

1:00 p.m.-Arrive at EHS for Rehearsal.

2:00 p.m.- Get into Uniforms and Load the Equipment

2:15 p.m.-Leave for Lincolnway East

3:30 p.m.- Arrive at Lincolnway

3:45 p.m.-Proceed to Warm Up Area

4:45 p.m.- Performance

7:30 p.m. – Awards for Class A & AA

10:00 p.m. – Leave for Elgin High

11:15 p.m-Arive At Elgin High

This is an exciting event that we will be attending. There will be a concession stand available for students to purchase food after the performance. Students should bring a warm change of cloths for after the performance. I encourage you to either attend this event or help out with this event; you will not regret it! Attached is additional information from Lincolnway. Please also be aware that there is a mandatory rehearsal October 8^th from 4-8 that was already on the calendar. The students and I are looking forward to this competition and I hope you are too! Maroon Pride!

September 18th -Football Game- Band Meets at 6:00-Game Starts at 7:30

September 20th-Homecoming Parade-Band Meets at Elgin High at 11:30 a.m.-Parade Starts at 1:00 p.m. by festival park in downtwon Elgin-Return Time is 1:45.

Setember 25th- Homecoming Football Game-6:00 call time

Water is still needed for the football Games. Any parents interested in helping please contact me.

Marching Band Season!

This year band camp was extremely successful! We were able to accomplish a ton of work in a relatively short amount of time.

This years schedule includes:

August 28th-Football Game call time 5:30
September 18th-Football Game call time 5:45
September 20th-Homecoming Parade call time 9:00 a.m.
September 25th-Football Game call time 5:45
Oct 3rd-Football Game call time 9:30 a.m.
Oct 8th-Reheasal for competition 4-8 p.m.
Oct 10th- Lincolnway Competition call time 11:00 a.m.

All these dates are accurate, but for some of the later events I.E the homecoming parade and the marching competition more info on times will be available in the near future.

Parents we need your help with bottled water for the foot ball games. I am also looking for as many parents as possible to go to the Oct 10th competition. Please contact me if you can help in any way!
