Elgin High Placed 1st in color guard and 2nd overall in class A at the Lincoln-way Competition.

On October 10^th The Elgin High Band will be attending our first Marching Band Competition at Lincolnway East High School.  I am looking for any and all parents interested in either attending the event or helping out with the event.  I need two adults to Chaperone the Buses and any parents who own a SUV, Van, or Truck to help with equipment.  The Drum major podium really needs to go in a suburban, truck, or van type vehicle, any help would be greatly appreciated.  Please Contact me by phone or e-mail if you can help.

Schedule for October 10^th

1:00 p.m.-Arrive at EHS for Rehearsal.

2:00 p.m.- Get into Uniforms and Load the Equipment

2:15 p.m.-Leave for Lincolnway East

3:30 p.m.- Arrive at Lincolnway

3:45 p.m.-Proceed to Warm Up Area

4:45 p.m.- Performance

7:30 p.m. – Awards for Class A & AA

10:00 p.m. – Leave for Elgin High

11:15 p.m-Arive At Elgin High

This is an exciting event that we will be attending.  There will be a concession stand available for students to purchase food after the performance. Students should bring a warm change of cloths for after the performance.  I encourage you to either attend this event or help out with this event; you will not regret it!  Attached is additional information from Lincolnway.  Please also be aware that there is a mandatory rehearsal October 8^th from 4-8 that was already on the calendar.  The students and I are looking forward to this competition and I hope you are too!  Maroon Pride!

September 18th -Football Game- Band Meets at 6:00-Game Starts at 7:30
September 20th-Homecoming Parade-Band Meets at Elgin High at 11:30 a.m.-Parade Starts at 1:00 p.m. by festival park in downtwon Elgin-Return Time is 1:45.
Setember 25th- Homecoming Football Game-6:00 call time
Water is still needed for the football Games. Any parents interested in helping please contact me.

This year band camp was extremely successful!  We were able to accomplish a ton of work in a relatively short amount of time.
